FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much should you risk per trade with a prop firm?

There's no absolute rule, but many funded traders stay between 0.5% and 1% of the account per trade to keep margin against the daily and total loss limits. The lower your risk per trade, the more losses in a row you can take without blowing up.

What is the daily loss limit?

The maximum you can lose in a single day before the firm closes (or suspends) your account. It's often a % of the account size.

What is the total loss / drawdown?

The maximum loss allowed from the start (or from your peak, for a trailing drawdown). Breaching it loses the account. Our drawdown calculator covers this.

Does this replace my firm's rules?

No. It's a generic decision-support tool. The exact rules (drawdown type, daily-loss calculation, etc.) vary by firm: always check your prop firm's review.
